Baked Sardines with Garlic and Oregano
- 2 – 2 1/2 pounds of fresh sardines
- sea salt
- freshly ground pepper
- Greek oregano (rigani)
- 5-6 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup of water
- Preheat oven to 355°F (180°C)
- Lay sardines in a baking pan and top with all ingredients, using salt, pepper, and oregano to taste (don’t skimp), sprinkling evenly.
- Bake for about 45 minutes.
